NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF NATURAL CONVECTION IN A HEATED ROOM AND ITS IMPLICATION ON THERMAL COMFORT

A heated room is numerically analyzed to study thermal comfort. Cold air flowing in from the inlet gets by a heat source (placed just below inlet), before being distributed throughout room. The presence of and high Rayleigh number causes flow be buoyant turbulent. Two RANS based turbulence models, RNG k-ε k-ω SST models are used model Discrete Ordinate (DO) radiation transfer between different surfaces In order account for movement, approximated as Boussinesq fluid. Parameters that affect comfort such temperature, operative intensity, velocity temperature difference head ankle level investigated. It found predicted this have similar profiles irrespective models. Predicted values intensity were low, which shows low risk drought occupied zone. two give results earlier studies performed with proving their robustness viability variety problems.
